James Fleming has agreed to join VAR Capital as Vice Chairman of the Advisory Board. The appointment of James follows the recent award of Investment Team of the Year 2020/21 by the prestigious STEP Private Client Awards and firm’s other recent hires Ilya Goldshtein, who joined as a Vice President from Barclays, and Safinah Ali who joined as an Analyst from Al Rayan Bank.
James has over 30 years’ experience in the banking industry including Head of International Private Banking at Coutts and Managing Director at SG Hambros. More recently, he was the CEO of multi-family office Sandaire and Vice Chairman of Arbuthnot Latham Private Bank. Sandaire was sold last year to Schroders.
The VAR Capital Advisory Board is responsible for providing strategic guidance and a sounding board for the firm. It helps to ensure the firm achieves its aim to becoming a market leading boutique financial advisory firm.
Other Advisory Board members in VAR Capital include entrepreneur Sukhpal Singh Ahluwalia (Chairman), Investment Banker Dina Geha, and ex veteran wealth manager Hannelore Graf.
